The Business Architect will provide business analysis support and Enterprise Architecture modeling support in developing baseline and target architectures to support enterprise transition plans for our clients.
This Enterprise Business Architect position is to support a federal government client in completing the validation and modeling of its “as is” enterprise architecture model and sub-model and to establish a baseline architecture for the developing and transitioning to a target architecture. The responsibilities include analyzing and documenting business processes, scenarios, activities and information flows. The Business Architect will also provide assistance in requirements gathering, business component and process modeling, business modeling facilitation, work product documentation, and related general support activities for Enterprise Architecture Program. Candidate must be able to perform impact analysis scenarios and gap analysis activities. In addition must be proficient in the maintenance and implementation of the FEA Business Reference Model. The individual must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Since this position involves working on a client site, being self driven and professional maturity are necessary. Working from a Business Architect skill set and perspective works with the functional and technical communities to help them establish a traceable lineage from organization mission, functional requirements through effective business process mapping with associated performance targets supporting the organizations objectives.
Business Architect Activities:
- Develop and manage the “As-Is and To-Be” business architecture metamodel for business areas, Lines of business, sub-functions and business processes in line with the organizations vision, mission goals and objectives.
- Develop the mappings of Laws, CFRs, field manuals, down to standard operations manuals in alignment with the other architecture domains.
- Develop the business-architecture framework that provides the capability to identify impacts to business processes and associated information systems,
- Identify the business processes impacted by changes defined in the strategic management process,
- Monitor the ongoing impact of organizations transition strategy on business processes
- Work closely with the business operations staff and the performance architect to develop a method to define, design, develop, analyze, monitor, and report performance progress,
Minimum Position-specific Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in public policy, public administration, business administration and/or financial management
- 5+ years in Business and/or performance modeling, profiling, analysis and management
- 4+ years program management with EVM and Operations Analysis experience
- 4+ years consulting experience
- 2+ years Federal Government experience
- 2+ years Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt
- US Citizenship

- Experienced with Requirements Gathering, documentation and Analysis
- Understand the relationships between EA, enterprise governance, and program reviews
- Knowledge and practical experience in full systems development life cycle (SDLC) and methodologies
